I love a parade!

So what to do when the feast days of two major saints, Patrick & Joseph, fall so close together? South Louisiana has got it figured out: Have a parade!

Sorry, St. Patrick, this one is just for Joseph. The Italian American Marching Club celebrates St. Joseph with a parade through the French Quarter on Saturday, March 15, 2014. The parade kicks off at 3 p.m. and includes 16 floats, nine marching bands and a whole lot of guys in tuxuedos. This parade features a rolling St. Joseph Altar!

The 32nd Annual Louisiana Irish-Italian Parade, honoring both St. Patrick & St. Joseph, rolls at noon on Sunday, March 23rd, 2014 in Metairie.

The St. Bernard Irish Italian Islenos Community Parade & Marching Club holds their big event on Sunday, April 6, 2014 at 11 am down Judge Perez Drive, Chalmette and Arabi. This parade heads down Judge Perez Drive through Chalmette and Arabi. There will be 43 floats, 1,500+ members and 300,000 pounds of produce.

Yep, I love a parade!
